City's legends. Central part of Moscow

Yesterday I visited the excursion with city's legends again. It was in a central part of Moscow on Prechistinka and Ostozhenka streets.
I waked up at the morning and saw a snow on the street. It was the first snow in this year! But the weather was so bad: it was about 2 degrees above zero so the snow was melting, also it was raining the whole day, so it was very dank and slushy. The idea not to go to the excursion flashed in my head. But I registered at this excursion, the group and organisators would wait me, I could not betray them. I took my umbrella and went out. Unfortunately I had no gumboots... The road was like one continious puddle...

Despite the weather everybody came and we had a nice 2 hours. We visited a small pice of ancient Moscow never seen before.

The start and meeting point of our excursion. Near the Engels monument between Prechistinka and Ostozhenka streets.
Temple of the Prophet Elijah in Obydensky lane. Initially this temple was a wooden. By the legends it was built in 1 day. It was not closed even in Soviet times.
Gimnasium was built in XIX century in Modern Style. A lot of original engineering solutions were employed during construction. For example the first vacuum cleaner was in every hallway.

Golden Mile. A modern expensive district in Moscow was built in 2002-2003 by german architects.
