student life: Opening of Moscow Youth Parliament

The first center of youth parliament was opened in Moscow last week. It is an important event for young people in Russia.

Moscow youth parliament was created in 2008 for development parliamentarism among youth, for improving social and creativ activity, for development tolerance, for patriotic upbringing. But all works took place in different sites.

The new center was opened based on the "Odessa" cinema building and cover 3000 square meters. There are some transformer halls, internet cafe, electronic library, classrooms and cinema hall with 350 seats. Different leisure, informational and educational, sport and social event will be held for parliament, city of regional needs.

The leader of family and youth policy department Yuliya Grimalskaya said at the opening ceremony: "It is the most biggest center in the city and all 3000 square meters are for young people". She added that it is the second center which was rendered for youth project in Moscow. This center was planed in 2006 and legally created in a year. And in 5 years we obtained this building.

There will be a volonteer center, areas for discussing and debate, the place for meeting people who lead healthy lifestyle in new house.

Grimalskaya also noted that public reception is worked here and young MPs collect requests from citizens, transfer them to municipal deputies and monitor their implementation.

A lot of other guests of honor were also invited for this ceremony.

A lot of interesting fields were in foyer before the official opening ceremony. There were an exhibition of public and political organizations, quest games and others. But most of popular was a photo studio where everybody could make a photo with parliament's simbols.
